La Pelosa in Stintino 2026: Guide to Booking, Mats, and Parking

Relaxed tourists with the mandatory mat arriving at the beautiful La Pelosa beach in Stintino early in the morning

There was a time when La Pelosa beach in Stintino was an open paradise, slightly larger and enjoyed only by locals. Today, this strip of impalpable sand and Caribbean sea is a global icon, firmly placed in the Top 10 most beautiful beaches on the planet.

However, global fame comes at a price. For decades, overcrowding and "sand theft" (tourists taking white sand as a souvenir) threatened this ecosystem. To save La Pelosa, the Municipality of Stintino introduced strict rules. If you are planning a vacation in Northern Sardinia, here is the definitive guide updated for 2026 to access the beach without ruining your day.

Tickets and Booking La Pelosa 2026: How It Works

Access to the beach is limited and paid between May 15th and October 15th, 2026, with a strict maximum capacity of 1,500 people per day. Access control is active from 08:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

How much does it cost and how do you book?

  • The Price: The daily ticket costs €3.50 per person. Children under 12 enter for free.
  • Ordinary Booking (500 spots): One third of the tickets can be booked well in advance on the official website spiaggialapelosa.it.
  • Last Minute Booking (1,000 spots): Most spots are released exactly 48 hours before the desired date, at 09:00 AM. You'll need to be fast!

💡 The Insider's Advice: The absolute best months to visit La Pelosa without the oppressive crowds are June, the first ten days of July, and from mid-September onwards. If you can't book online, remember that after 6:00 PM the gates open: enjoying the sunset is a free and romantic experience. Early in the morning, you can try to rent an umbrella from the very few private beach clubs.

The Golden Rules: Mandatory Mats and Prohibitions

Having an entrance ticket is not enough.

  1. The Mandatory Mat (Stuoia): It is strictly forbidden to lay a cotton towel directly on the sand. You must place a rigid mat (straw or bamboo) under your towel to let the sand slide off.
  2. Washing Feet: Upon exiting, it is mandatory to rinse your feet at the designated fountains.
  3. Smoking and Animals: La Pelosa is a smoke-free beach, and dogs are not allowed.

Parking at La Pelosa: The Logistical Nightmare

The coastal road (Viale La Pelosa) is entirely lined with paid blue parking spaces, with staggering hourly rates. Not only is parking extremely expensive, but finding a free spot is a titanic task. We at Villa Malvasio strongly suggest not arriving after 9:30 AM to have any hope of finding a space. Parking outside the lines means a certain fine and towing.

Why a "Base Camp" in Sassari is the Strategic Choice

Sleeping in Stintino has serious logistical drawbacks: high prices and heavy traffic to leave the peninsula. The solution for savvy travelers is to use Villa Malvasio in Sassari as a strategic point. Far from the chaos, it allows you to reach Stintino quickly. Upon your return, you won't go crazy looking for parking: our large, private, and totally free internal parking lot awaits you.

(Please note: at Villa Malvasio we do not provide beach mats, but we can tell you exactly where to buy them at a good price before heading to the coast).

❓ FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book La Pelosa beach for 2026?

Booking is done exclusively online on the official website spiaggialapelosa.it. You can book ordinary spots well in advance or aim for the "last minute" spots released exactly 48 hours before the chosen date, at 09:00 AM sharp.

Do I have to bring a mat to La Pelosa?

Yes, it is strictly mandatory. Normal terry towels cannot be laid directly on the sand. A rigid mat must be placed underneath.

What happens if I go to La Pelosa without a booking?

If you arrive between 08:00 AM and 6:00 PM without a booking QR code, you will not be allowed to enter. However, after 6:00 PM, access is free and open to everyone.
